I love visiting churches. It is a place of worship and it is a place where I can really talk to God and pray fervently.

I also love appreciating how a church is built and decorated. I especially love old churches and Binondo Church is one of them. Although the facade is much older than the actual church (which was just renovated after being in ruins), it’s still a beauty to behold.

I remember, as a child, how we were always told to take siesta in the afternoon so that we can grow taller.  Unfortunately for this kid, he has no place to stay and just takes advantage of the park outside Binondo Church.

I wonder where the children and grandchildren of this lola are.  Elderlies like her shouldn’t really be working anymore.  It may be because of poverty or probably the lola still insists on selling candles outside Binondo Church for the lack of other things to do.  I really don’t know.  All my grandparents are in heaven already so I really envy those who still have theirs alive.  I hope they take advantage of their company while they’re still in their midsts.

I can’t blame the manong…it was one lazy afternoon good for taking a short siesta…
